Luminous Coffee Ecuador Finca La Carolina Fausto Romo

I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My Friend's Coffee Roasters Espresso Blend #4

48. I wish I brewed this as an espresso, it felt fairly orthodox, but I have a feeling that it would have been amazing as an espresso. Lots of dark chocolate notes, some berry jam and a creamy mouth feel.

My Friend's Coffee Roasters Peru Gregoria Miranda Bourbon

I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 44. Another interesting coffee, dark toffee at the front, brief blackberry, unsweetened almond butter and deceptively complex.

My Friend's Coffee Roasters Yemen Haraaz Red Grade

I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours 48. This is perhaps the best Yemen coffee I have tried. Normally I avoid Yemen coffees I generally am not a fan of a lot of the roast flavors. And while this has some flavors I associate with darker coffees that I avoid it still is good. Tobacco throughout, developed wine notes and dark chocolate.

Tico Coffee Roasters Peru The Watertower Decaf

I've had a lot of coffee samples recently since I am setting up a cafe, hopefully as a multi-roaster. The owner of Tico Coffee Roasters brought some preground coffee as for a coffee tasting so these are a little different than how I normally write these.  Her recipe was 24g coffee with a 75g bloom at 205°F water for thirty seconds with an additional 300g pour in the clever and then start the pour down at 2:30 finishing roughly at three and a half minutes.  Last, but not least is the decaf. I liked it, I don't know why I never really served it before a bit orthodox, but better than many decafs I've tried. Chocolate throughout, orange syrup and roasted peanut.

Lots of sweet cherry at the front followed by dark chocolate and a little nutty.

Tico Coffee Roasters Flying Dragon

Very earthy, with very dark chocolate notes, a full body and a very silky finish.

Tico Coffee Roasters Costa Rica Santa Maria de Dota

Thickish mouth feel, smoked vanilla, honey sweetness and tons of lingering chocolate notes.

Tico Coffee Roasters Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Natural

I've had a lot of coffee samples recently since I am setting up a cafe, hopefully as a multi-roaster. The owner of Tico Coffee Roasters brought some preground coffee as for a coffee tasting so these are a little different than how I normally write these.  Her recipe was 24g coffee with a 75g bloom at 205°F water for thirty seconds with an additional 300g pour in the clever and then start the pour down at 2:30 finishing roughly at three and a half minutes.  This was probably the lightest of the coffees Mariana brought and normally would be my favorite, but it came in a close second. Almost a berry bomb, but not quite. Black cherry at the front, berry jam, peaches and very clean.

Tico Coffee Roasters Guatamala Marilandia

I've had a lot of coffee samples recently since I am setting up a cafe, hopefully as a multi-roaster. The owner of Tico Coffee Roasters brought some preground coffee as for a coffee tasting so these are a little different than how I normally write these.  Her recipe was 24g coffee with a 75g bloom at 205°F water for thirty seconds with an additional 300g pour in the clever and then start the pour down at 2:30 finishing roughly at three and a half minutes.  This was my favorite of the samples that I tried, it was on the medium side, but very unusual for a Guatamalan coffee. Lots of blood orange notes, some caramelized sugar and sweet red grapes at the end.

Equator Coffee Roasters Tigerwalk Espresso

Roasted 3/10/22 18.6g in 27 seconds 28g out Only a day off roast and very temperamental, but just like I remember it, lots of cherry and strawberry jam and bright lemon throughout.  I haven't really said much, but I am at a new place and I am trying to set it up as a multi-roaster and so far have been trying to bring in a lot of my old favorites.

Proud Mary Coffee Roasters Panama Finca Auromar

I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 47. Not really impressed with this as a pour over, it feels like it would be perfect as an slightly orthodox espresso. Lots of chocolate notes throughout, light brief floral notes and some light apricot sweetness.

Barefoot Coffee Roasters Redcab Espresso

I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 46. Chocolate, nutty and citrus. Honestly disappointing, however I tend to find Barefoot's coffees, espresso in particular, tend to be on the mediocre to average side. Last time I described Redcab to someone was that it is agressively mediocre. I honestly only got around to this because I have left my corporate dining barista job on Monday and felt like I should have finally record them.
