Tectonic Coffee Roasters Tectonic Blend

18.2g in 33 seconds 27g out  I realize haven't been religiously recording my parameters. I've been busy for the most part and I have been struggling with the owners of the place I am managing. They are inexperienced and have unrealistic expectations. After a month of working with them I am already looking elsewhere.  Lots of chocolate and stonefruit.

Tectonic Ethiopia Anasora

Roasted on 08/09/20 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Ditting KR1203 grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 6.25. Very juicy and sweet. Mostly Cantaloupe and bergamot and a drying black tea like finish. I rather liked this one, but if the black tea finish wasn't present it would be perfect.

2 second preinfusion. I think from now in I am going to be ommiting days that I don't work since I feel my coworkers actually do not dial in. Linea El Injerto Espresso : Roasted on 06/23/20 18.9g in 23 seconds 24g out Pretty mediocre, some raw sugar notes and a bit nutty. Tectonic Tectonic Blend Espresso: Roasted on 06/25/20 18.4g in 27 seconds 24g out Generic fruit at the front followed by chocolate. I am always surprised at my distaste for a couple particular coworkers. One who seems to always be the cause of some innate drama. 2.5 second preinfusion for all three. T ectonic Tectonic Blend Espresso: Roasted on 04/26/20 18.3g in 28 seconds 30g out 198.2°F I really liked how I had Tectonic on Friday and this is a close second. Lots of fleeting cherry notes at the front with some sweetness throughout. A little darker than I'd like. Temple Dharma Espresso : Roasted on 04/28/20 18.0g in 28 seconds 24g out 198.2°F I just do not like Temple as an espresso or a ristretto. Mostly chocolate notes and spice towards the end. Very boring. Decaf Equator Blend Espresso: Roasted on 04/23/20 19g in 29 seconds 30g out 198.2°F I finally got tired of the 15g shots. Very woodsy with some cherry sweetness in the front.

Tectonic Tectonic Blend

Roasted on 04/26/20 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Ditting KR1203 grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 7. Everything was nice. The finer it got the less juicy and more chocolate-y it became. Cherry, caramel sweetness and chocolate. I could drink this everyday. Normally I am not a fan of Tectonic Blend, but this has been vastly superior to the previous batches I have tried.

Tectonic Colombia Buena Vista

Roasted on 04/26/20 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Ditting KR1203 grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 6.375. 6.5 was nice as well, just a tad too sharp and not as balanced. Tart Cherry notes that lingers, peach and caramel throughout. It was quite juicy. It was alright, I am a bit ambivalent about it. I could certainly see this as a daily drinker, but it doesn't particularly wow me.
