Luminous Coffee Roasters Sumatra Pantan Musara Natural

Roasted 05/23/23 This coffee comes from a small mill in the Pegasing district of Takengon, in Sumatra's coffee-famous Aceh region. The mill serves several small coffee producers within the Pantan Musara villages; several years ago, these producers were dislocated from their homes and land because of a natural disaster, and they have rebuilt their lives and farms with a new focus on coffee. Unlike the vast majority of other Sumatran coffee receiving and processing centers, this mill is producing Washed coffees, as well as Naturals. Red Grapes , Winey Fruit Acidity, Dark Chocolate, Floral And Berry Flavors.

Luminous Coffee Roasters Sumatra Natural Pantan Musara

Roasted 02/22/23 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 39. Red Grapes , Winey Fruit Acidity, Dark Chocolate, Floral And Berry Flavors. Not what I expected from a Sumatran, but at this point I should know better with Luminous.  Work has been very busy and I keep falling behind in my notes.

Moksha Coffee Roasters Sumatra Ratu Ketiara Washed

Roasted 01/25/23 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. I had this at a coffee tasting and my normal at home pour over. The coffee tasting wasn't quite a cupping, but something close to one. The four coffees I had were dialed in to be a little thinner then I'd like, but were good to get the main notes. 41. Sweet bell pepper, sage and cacao nibs. Again another interesting coffee that I would not expect to taste like.

Golden Lantern Coffee Roasters Indonesia Sumatra Wahana Estate Giling Basah Wet Hulled

I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 43. Dried cranberries, lightly roasted almonds, heavy body and very light acidity. A little boring, but would be a good espresso.  No roast dates on the bags made me very angry.
