I guess the plan is for my coworkers to rotate one week on and one week off. So today is my last day with the "experienced Peet's barista" who has "so many certifications" and I hope the day goes by fast.

Barefoot Redcab Espresso: Roasted on 01/12/22. 18.5g in 35 seconds 24g-27 out  Nutty Barefoot Decaf Espresso: Roasted on 01/12/22 18.6 in 18 seconds 30g out Very sweet and floral My coworker is very annoying. I understand why some places only hire those with no coffee experience, she constantly makes mistakes that I have to correct, moves everything around and is generally very annoying.

So I have two coworkers who I will be working with on alternating weeks, both are pretty inexperienced. One of them is extremely annoying and is constantly testing my patience with her ineptitudes. She constantly tries to bring her "extensive" coffee experience in, which is working at Peet's in which everything she says is wrong. "Oh ai have never seen a cafinated white tea! All white teas are decaf [...]".

I was told the position I was told I have does not exist, despite being promised it and being asked to submit my resume post employment for it.

I remember seeing individuals like this throughout my career and have always avoided them, looking back most of not all their warnings would have helped me avoid certain pitfalls I have encountered.

Nevermind just had a fun discussion with a manager.

Barefoot Redcab Espresso: Roasted on 01/05/22 19.3g in 16 seconds 24-26g out  I forgot how much two days of not working affects grinders. Everything tastes fine though.  Barefoot Decaf Espresso: Roasted on 01/05/22 18.3g in 29 seconds 24g out So my coworker is incompetent. The manager I have who has "coffee experience" is also incompetent. The other coworker I have who is out sick with covid is incompetent. All three have worked at the kind of places with no focus on quality and are used to just pressing a button and being done. One said she knew what good espresso looks like and doesn't has to weigh coffee from our horrible doser grinder or weigh the shot, which I tried and was awful tasting.  I am currently using a Nuova Simonelli Appia 2 and Bulova Simonelli MDXS doser grinders. I am honestly surprised that the company that makes the Mythos has made something as terrible as these two.  I promised myself the last time I left corporate dining that I would never work...

Honestly the better tasting of the pair.  I have a coworker now, but for how long.

I've been working again as a barista again since this last Monday, but haven't felt like updating this since I have been struggling with two of my managers. Both are inept and I am struggling with developing expectations with them.  Barefoot Redcab Espresso: Roasted on 01/05/22 18.3g in 21 seconds 27g out  Bright, hazelnut and dark chocolate Barefoot Decaf Espresso: Roasted on 01/05/22 Malty, burnt sugar and pecans Barefoot coffee is agressive mediocre. I love how every time I change workplaces I seem to go I step down. I am currently working in corporate dining again, so you know coffee is never the focus and is an annoying afterthought that they are contractually obligated to provide, but no one in management has any desire to dedicate time or resources to.
