Sunday Coffee Project Peru Fidel Huancas Chinchay Washed

Roasted 02/20/23 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 43. Raspberry, lemonade and cola. I loved the box, I wish it was a little brighter or more acidic then it was, but not bad. I tend to not care for coffees with collar notes, but this was pretty good. I recently have been struggling with appreciating things, always thinking of how something could taste better.

Luminous Coffee Roasters Peru Natural Finca Flor de la Montana

Roasted 02/22/23 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 41. Earthy, cherry, fruit acidity and bakers chocolate. Definitely a daily drinker, would probably be good as an espresso, but a little orthodox for me.

My Friend's Coffee Roasters Peru Gregoria Miranda Bourbon

I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 44. Another interesting coffee, dark toffee at the front, brief blackberry, unsweetened almond butter and deceptively complex.

Tico Coffee Roasters Peru The Watertower Decaf

I've had a lot of coffee samples recently since I am setting up a cafe, hopefully as a multi-roaster. The owner of Tico Coffee Roasters brought some preground coffee as for a coffee tasting so these are a little different than how I normally write these.  Her recipe was 24g coffee with a 75g bloom at 205°F water for thirty seconds with an additional 300g pour in the clever and then start the pour down at 2:30 finishing roughly at three and a half minutes.  Last, but not least is the decaf. I liked it, I don't know why I never really served it before a bit orthodox, but better than many decafs I've tried. Chocolate throughout, orange syrup and roasted peanut.

Barefoot Coffee Roasters Organic Decaf Peru

I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 44. Nutty, malty, and weirdly floral. Honestly this is a pretty good decaf espresso and pour over, it won't wow you, but better than many decafs I've tried.

Temple Peru Elvis Rafael

Roasted on 07/02/20 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Ditting KR1203 grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 6.125. All the way up to 6.375 was great. Lots of Dark chocolate notes some black cherry and unripe plum. I liked it, it would be amazing if it was slightly lighter.
