Luminous Coffee Roasters Do Good Lumi Mix August 2022

Roasted on 09/05/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours.  46. Evidently this mix is a Colombia Natural and Ethiopia Honey 65%-35%. Another one that I forgot to post, but I tasted a lot of berry, sweet milk chocolate, with a nice body and very sweet. Felt like a classic Ethiopian, but with a little more body I am assuming from the Colombian.

Luminous Coffee Roasters Honduras Juan José Ventura Fuentes Finca La Lesquinada 33hr Natural Anaerobic

Roasted on 09/23/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 39. Orange, cacao, raspberry & black cherry. Reminds me a lot of Tico's Sangre De Toro, probably would be good as an espresso especially as it has those orthodox flavors that seem every espresso roast aims for.

Pull & Pour Coffee Club + Kaldi's Coffee Special Release Colombia Huila Gesha Spirits Semi-Washed Anaerobic

Roasted on 09/27/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 41. I am trying this admittedly really young, but even still it is good. Wild  complexity, lemon-lime, hops, red berry and cereal. Maybe it has potential as an espresso because of the cereal notes, but I would be afraid of it not being consistent.

Roasted on 09/21/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 40. Fig, Molasses and Passion fruit. It's very good, but I think it would be better as an espresso.

Luminous Coffee Roasters Colombia Vergel Estates Caturra Koji Honey

Roasted on 09/11/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 40. Earthy, Green Apple, Floral & Lime Acidity. I am not normally a fan of earthy coffees, but the acidity and the brief floral notes made this worth trying for me as well as the sweet green apple.

Penultimate day, I have said goodbye to everyone already so I don't have much left to do except collect my final pay.  Moksha Coffee Roasters Colombia Huila Mistico Washed Espresso Roasted on 09/22/22 18.3g in 26 seconds 24g out Fig, dark grape juice, apricot, caramel and dark chocolate.  Moksha Decaf  Mexico Esmeralda Espresso: Roasted on 09/21/22 20.3g in 19 seconds 24g out Winelike, orange acidity, somewhat herbal and lots of milk chocolate.

I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 37. Mango, chocolate, strawberry and unami. It had a weird almost, but not quite unami/mushroom/miso/earthy-but-not-quite taste to it, but it was interesting. Reminds me a bit of some young shou purrs.

Two days left after today is over.  Moksha Coffee Roasters Colombia Huila Mistico Washed Espresso Roasted on 09/22/22 18.22g in 24 seconds 24g out Fig, dark grape juice, apricot, caramel and dark chocolate.  Moksha Decaf  Mexico Esmeralda Espresso: Roasted on 09/21/22 20.4g in 20 seconds 24g out Winelike, orange acidity, somewhat herbal and lots of milk chocolate. The longer I use this grinder the more I realize how terrible it is, everything I pull feels somewhat underextracted.
