Counter Culture Big Trouble Espresso: Roasted on 04/01/20 19.6g in 28 seconds 24g out Really boring. I like this better with a smaller dose. Just nutty and balanced. Stumptown Holler Mountain Espresso: Roasted on 03/31/20 18.5g in 22 seconds 30g out I am realizing I am pulling everything like a lighter sweet tasting espresso recently. Still very sweet and creamy. Less berry notes than yesterday. Equator Decaf Blend Espresso: Roasted on 03/05/20 15.3g in 15 seconds 30g out

I also hate my printer Counter Culture Big Trouble Espresso: Roasted on 04/01/20 19.4g in 25 seconds 24-25g out Not as dark as yesterday, still dark mostly nutty, but with some sweetness. Stumptown Holler Mountain Espresso: Roasted on 03/31/20 18.4g in 23 seconds 30g out This is a breath of fresh air and I am not normally a fan of Holler Mountain. Lots of caramel notes, with some faint berry notes that disapear much to fast with a very thick mouthfeel. Equator Decaf Blend Espresso: Roasted on 03/05/20 15.3g in 14 seconds 30g out

Line to get in the store was too long so I'll have to really conserve today. Counter Culture Big Trouble Espresso: Roasted on 03/17/20 19.4g in 27 seconds 24-25g out Much too dark for me, I prefer the lighter fleeting espressos I did last week. Again mostly nutty. Equator Eye of the Tiger Espresso: Roasted on 03/31/20 18.7g in 24 seconds 30g out I went a lot tarter than I normally do, but I don't have another espresso to replace it with. Pomegranate front and some grape notes. Equator Decaf Blend Espresso: Roasted on 03/05/20 15.2g in 16 seconds 30g out

I hate Safeway. Counter Culture Big Trouble Espresso: Roasted on 03/17/20 18.6g in 27 seconds 24-26g out I made this extra dark for the man who thought this was the lightest coffee he ever had. Just nutty and round. Equator Eye of the Tiger Espresso: Roasted on 03/31/20 18.4g in 27 seconds 24-28g out Very sweet and light. Mostly grape. Counter Culture Big Trouble Espresso: Roasted on 03/17/20 18.4g in 20 seconds 30-36g out Dark and boring. Might hold up pretty well in q latte. Someone told me this was the lightest espresso they have ever had yesterday. Intelligentsia Honey Badger Espresso: Roasted on 03/20/20 18.8g in 25 seconds 24g out It's never been sweeter, however the sweetness is pretty much the primary characteristics now. The 6am Safeway run is killing me. Counter Culture Big Trouble Espresso: Roasted on 03/17/20 18.0g in 23 seconds 30g out Much darker and less sweet than I ever had. Pretty much still only nutty. Intelligentsia Honey Badger Espresso: Roasted on 03/20/20 19.0g in 23 seconds 24-26g out I see how people could not lighter lighter brighter coffees with how I dialed in today. Very bright and tart, some sweetness at the end and a little too thin. Very sharp, mostly citrus notes throughout some ripe plum at the end. Equator Decaf Blend Espresso: Roasted on 03/05/20 15.0g in 15 seconds 30g out

I saw a lot of people I haven't in a while yesterday and decided at least temporarily to stay on. Counter Culture Big Trouble Espresso: Roasted on 03/17/20 19g in 23 seconds 30g out Darker than before, but still pretty boring. I might continue trying to updose as it still is pretty balanced and mostly nutty. I don't know if I want to try a 20g shot though. Intelligentsia Honey Badger Espresso: Roasted on 03/20/20 19.2g in 23 seconds 24-26g out Less tart, more sweet and less clean tasting. It still is mostly stone fruit. I tried using a larger dose, but couldn't get a good shot. Equator Decaf Blend Espresso: Roasted on 03/05/20 15.2g in 16 seconds 30g out

Worst part of today is paying rent and having the uncertainty of whether or not I'll be able to next month. Counter Culture Big Trouble Espresso: Roasted on 03/17/20 18.0g in 20 seconds 30g out I might try slowing this down tomorrow, I am not the biggest fan of Big Trouble as an espresso. I have it fairly light, but it is extremely well balanced and I can only taste but notes. Intelligentsia Honey Badger Espresso: Roasted on 03/20/20 18.6g in 24 seconds 24-27g out Much tarter and brighter than before, however the flavors are less distinct, mostly stone fruit. Equator Decaf Blend Espresso: Roasted on 03/05/20 15.2g in 16 seconds 30g out

Roasted on 03/17/20 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Ditting KR1203 grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 6.675. This is what I've been using for my drip for a while now, but because demand is so low I decided to dial it in as a pour over so I don't need to waste a lot every day. It's surprisingly complex, I generally am not a fan of drip coffee so I was not expecting much from this. Lots of Walnut notes, some caramel and a bit of grain at the very end.
