Roasted 03-22-24 Washed & Natural "The Portal blend is here to transport you into our Lumiverse, where you'll immerse yourself in what we're truly about: curating extraordinary experiences. This full-bodied blend offers abundant sweetness, but what sets it apart is our dedication to clarity and a distinct separation of flavors, ensuring you can enjoy every sip, regardless of your brewing method." Chocolate Ganache, Orange & Mullberry.

Proud Mary Coffee Roasters Panama Elida Estate Natural Geisha

Roasted 04-01-24 Geisha  Natural  "The Lamastus family have been growing coffee in the Boquete region of Panama for over 100 years and have won the Best of Panama competition five times with their Geisha. Wilford Lamastus and his son, Wilford Jr., manage the family's three farms high up in the cloudy rainforest of the Boquete region, on the edge of the Volcan Baru National Park. Elida Estate was their first farm to be planted with Geisha back in 2005, and they have been producing some of the best Geisha in the world ever since. In 2018 and 2019, Geisha from Elida won both the washed and the natural categories in the Best of Panama competition, something never seen before! This Geisha was processed using the traditional natural method and packed with delicious fruit notes." Tropical fruit, mango, black currant and lemongrass. Proud Mary sure does love Panamian coffees so much that I struggle to keep them straight. This one was very good, definitely not worth the price, but...

Ou·bai·tou·ri Ethiopia Tamiru Tadesse Murango Natural

Roasted 03-20-24 Sidama Bensa  74165 Varietal Natural Process "It has an elegant floral quality reminiscent of lavender and a juicy sweetness like ripe blueberries. As it cools down, a tangy texture emerges, changing to a pleasant sweetness like freshly made grape jam. Enjoy this gentle, sweet and gorgeous Ethiopian Natural." Lavender, blueberry and grape jam.  An all around fruity coffee, not quite a fruit bombe, it is a little to clean and refined whereas fruit bombes for me are very big and lack staying power.

Luminous Coffee Roasters Honduras Natural Anaerobic

Mango, BlackBerry, cherry and cocoa nibs. I am finally uploading some of my notes from last year where I didn't post. I can't remember much and unfortunately Luminous's website doesn't archive their old coffees which I imagine would be a fainting challenge seeing as how many different coffees they have throughout the year.

Ou·bai·tou·ri Yunnan Dehong Yeast Fermentation Natural Process

Roasted 03-20-24 Catimor P4 (7963) Varietal Yeast Fermentation Natural Process "The latest Dehong Yeast Fermentation, which was very well received when we collaborated with MOUTAIN MOVER at last year's SCAJ 2023, has arrived! The quality improvement of Yunnan coffee in recent years has continued to evolve at a dizzying pace. It is even sweeter and juicier than last year. As for the roasting of Oubaitouli, we focus on the 'change against temperature'. We set our roasting concept by focusing on the flavor that gradually brightens after it cools down. At first glance, the flavor is mild, but as it cools down, the flavor opens up, and we adjusted it so that you can feel the colorful flavors and enjoy it in a gorgeous way until the last sip when you finish drinking it slowly." Peach, Rose, Tea like astringency and Lychee sweetness.

Cool Roast Curves Congo Kabare Katana Jamaica Blue Mountain Natural

Jamaica Blue Mountain Varietal Natural Process  "Soaring above the digital mountains, behold the flavorful Sea of Clarity! Guided by the patient and knowledgeable spirits of South Kivu Farmers, the tastes unfurl in a dance both wild and familiar. Cascading flavors of mysterious plum soda frolic with sticky peach ring candy, creating an uncontrollable sugary wave pool. In this moment, we find ourselves anew, yet strangely at home. We etch this memory into our collective hard drives, eagerly anticipating the impending reboot." Peach candy and winey.  Never really cared for Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee, always found it to be overhyped, overpriced and over roasted much like Kona coffee was considered a pinacle of coffee regions for older coffee drinkers. I rather enjoyed this, perhaps because of its modest price.
