Luminous Coffee Roasters Lumi Mix November

Roasted on 11/23/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 30% Yemen 70% Colombia San Bernardo

Tico Coffee Roasters Brazil Brasis Natural

Roasted 11/26/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 42. Caramelized sugar, spices & cocoa. I tried this at Tico's open house and while it was nice it I strongly preferred the Holiday Blend. This definitely surpasses what I normally think of Brazilian coffees, but I don't find this flavor profile interesting. It could be good as a daily drinker or probably better as an espresso.

Whiptail Coffee Ethiopia Demeka Becha Washed

Roasted 12/06/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 39. Rose hips, apricot, golden raspberry, & honeydew melon. I loved it. Honestly everything I love in an Ethiopian with a somewhat spicy edge from the rose hips. I feel I have been falling out of love with Ethiopian, as many seem to be of a lesser quality in these last couple years or just that they are priced a little to high for their quality.

Whiptail Coffee Guatamala Paya Washed

Roasted 12/06/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 40. Guava juice, pink grapefruit, lemon pastry & candied violet. I rather enjoyed it. Definitely a bright coffee, not as acidic as I would have guessed, but I haven't had as much Guatemalan coffee in the last two years so I was expecting something a little more boring. So far I am liking Whiptail Coffee.

Tico Coffee Roasters Holiday Blend

Roasted 11/26/22  A Blend composed of Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Indonesia. Washed & Natural  Cranberry, Carmel, fudge & pecan. Surprisingly delicate. Good for both espresso and filter, I think it shines as an espresso. I wasn't expecting much since I tend to find holiday blends to be dark and heavy on the brown spice notes.

Luminous Coffee Roasters Colombia Tabi Honey Anaerobic Carlos Amariles

Roasted on 11/23/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 43. Black tea, chocolate, fruity and cranberry. A little astringent, but still good.

Luminous Coffee Roasters Colombia Washed Castillo Mandarin Felipe Arcila

Roasted on 11/23/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 39. Strawberry, dark chocolate, citrus and winey. Another hit, I really enjoy Luminous Coffee Roasters, but I feel their qr codes are not always ready when they ship their coffees. I love the volume of information they give, but it's not always easily accessible. Their tasting notes symbols are either easy to read or try to fail to convey whatever they are trying to. I wish there was an online key or that they didn't change them so often.

Luminous Coffee Roasters Colombia Pink Bourbon Honey Tartaric Acid & Orange Jario Arcila

41. Lime, orange, milk chocolate and vanilla bean. I liked it for the most part. A little too much acid at the front that disappears quickly.

Tectonic Coffee Roasters Honduras La Tanairi Semi-Anaerobic

Roasted on 11/27/22 I brewed this in a Kalita wave using notneutral filters with a Niche Zero grinder. My recipe is 28g coffee, 400g hot water not necessarily aiming for any particular time, but somewhere between four and five and half minutes. I try to do a 50g bloom in the first 45 seconds then three or four more pours. 43. Plum, Bergamot, Jasmine and sweet. I love how floral this coffee is even though I don't normally care for bergamot in coffee (often I find coffees with black tea, bergamot, cinnamon or cloves as tasting notes a little too astringent for me and they tend to become primary flavors overwhelming everything else).  I can't wait to try this as an espresso. I guess this is a Semi-Anaerobic not a "normal" anaerobic because the coffee wasn't fully sealed during the fermentation process allowing has to escape.
